A little privacy goes a long way.
Useful Angles only needs your email address to send you the newsletter.
Subscribing
When you sign up, we send a confirmation email. You start receiving the newsletter after you confirm. Resend handles email delivery and subscription records for Useful Angles.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe using the link in an email. To ask about your subscription or request deletion of your information, reply to an issue. We do not sell subscriber email addresses.
The library
The recommendation library is public. If you check off an item as explored, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. It is not attached to your email address or synced to other devices. Use “Clear checkmarks” in the library to remove those choices.
Understanding what is useful
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate visits, popular pages, and interest in the newsletter. Its reports can include general referral sources, device information, and approximate region. Vercel Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies. Read Vercel’s explanation of its analytics data.
For the current browser session, we remember the first public page you visited and a broad source category, such as search, newsletter, or unknown, in session storage. We count first-page entries and newsletter signup interest using those categories. We also count when a visitor opens a recommendation from the home page or library, using its issue date and watch/listen/read type. These measurements do not include your email address, confirmation token, search text, external destination URL, or full query string. Confirmation pages do not load browser analytics. Confirmed subscriptions are measured separately after the email provider verifies activation; we do not link that measurement to an individual browsing history.
Running the site
Vercel hosts the website. Our hosting and email providers process the technical information needed to operate the site, prevent abuse, and deliver email. Links to videos, podcasts, and articles take you to other websites with their own privacy policies.
